Brimfield is a town in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 9,342 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The town was first settled in 1768 by Ebenezer Brimfield and his family. The town was officially incorporated on March 4, 1792. The town's name is derived from its founder's last name and the field or meadow where he first settled.
Brimfield is home to many historic homes and buildings including the 18th century Brimfield House which now serves as a museum; the 18th century Congregational Church; and the 19th century Griggs-Whitney House which now houses a library and art gallery. Other notable buildings include the former Brimfield National Bank building (now occupied by an insurance company) and the former post office (now occupied by a salon).
The town also has several parks including Park Street Park, Memorial Park, Green Hill Park, Franklin Park, and Spring Brook Park. These parks offer residents opportunities for recreation such as playing baseball or tennis, hiking or biking trails, picnicking, swimming pool access, playgrounds etc.
