Comstock Park, MI

Comstock Park is a city located in Oakland County, Michigan. The population was 34,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area.

The city was founded in 1837 and named for Judge Augustus Comstock, who donated the land for its establishment. The first settler arrived in 1839. The city's economy was based on agriculture until the 1950s, when it began to develop as a bedroom community for Detroit workers. Manufacturing has since become an important part of the economy.

Today, Comstock Park is home to many businesses and organizations that support its thriving economy and quality of life. These include: General Motors Technical Center; Ford Motor Company Technical Center; Compuware Corporation; BorgWarner Inc.; Rockwell Automation; and 3M Corporation (formerly Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company).
