Horton, Michigan is a small town located in the northwest corner of the state. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. Horton is home to several businesses and industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, and real estate.

The history of Horton can be traced back to 1836 when a group of settlers from Vermont arrived in the area. The town was originally called " Hortonville" after one of the settlers, Ebenezer Horton. In 1851, the town was renamed " Horton" after General James K. Polk became president of the United States. The first post office opened in Horton on October 10th, 1851.
