Kaleva is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with a population of just over 1,000 people. The town is located in Kaleva Township, about 20 miles north of Houghton and 30 miles south of Marquette. Kaleva has a small commercial district along Main Street that includes a grocery store, gas station, post office, and several small businesses. The town also has a few homes and businesses on County Road 675.

The primary industry in Kaleva is logging. The town was founded in 1892 by Finnish settlers and was originally called Kuusamo. In the early 1900s, the lumber industry went into decline and the town began to decline as well. However, starting in the 1990s there has been a resurgence in interest in living in rural areas and Kaleva has seen an influx of new residents who have bought or built homes there.
