Walhalla is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Superior, about halfway between Houghton and Marquette. The population was 1,822 at the 2010 census.

The town's economy is based largely on tourism, with visitors drawn to its natural beauty and history. The area has many lakes and forests, as well as several hiking trails and fishing spots. There are also a number of bed-and-breakfasts and small businesses catering to tourists.

Walhalla was first settled in 1849 by members of the Methodist Episcopal Church who had been sent from Ohio to establish a mission station among the Ojibwe people. The town was named for General James Wolfe Walpole, an English general during the French and Indian War who had been killed in 1757 while leading an assault on Quebec City.

The Walhalla Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It includes more than 50 buildings dating from 1849 to 1938, including several churches, a schoolhouse, a post office, and several homes built by local businessmen or missionaries.
