Le Roy, MN

Le Roy is a small town located in the southwestern corner of Minnesota. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Le Roy is located on U.S. Highway 10, about halfway between Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The town's economy has traditionally been based on agriculture and related industries, but since the late 1990s there has been a resurgence in real estate development as Le Roy has become an attractive location for suburbanites looking for affordable housing and easy access to both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Today, Le Roy is home to a number of well-established businesses, including two banks, two restaurants, a grocery store, two gas stations/convenience stores, and several small businesses that provide services to the local community such as carpet cleaning and snow removal. There are also several new businesses starting up each year that cater to the needs of residents and visitors alike: a yoga studio; a bar/restaurant; an ice cream shop; a daycare center; and a salon/spa.

LeRoy's real estate market is characterized by high demand (due in part to its proximity to both Minneapolis and St. Paul) coupled with limited supply (due in part to its small size). As such, homes in LeRoy typically sell quickly – usually within days or weeks – and prices are generally higher than average for rural areas in Minnesota. In recent years there has been an increase in interest from out-of-state buyers who are looking for properties in LeRoy specifically because of its favorable real estate conditions – especially compared with other nearby towns (such as Mound or Zimmerman) which have seen slower growth or experienced more significant declines over the past few years due to economic recession or other factors outside of their control (such as crime rates).
