Moorhead, MN

Moorhead is a city located in Clay County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 36,827 at the 2010 census. Moorhead is the county seat of Clay County. The city is part of the Fargo- Moorhead Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The first Europeans to visit what would become Moorhead were fur traders in the early 1800s. In 1858, a group of settlers from Iowa founded what would become known as "The Settlement." The town grew slowly at first and relied on agriculture for its economy. However, when the railroad came through in 1881, Moorhead began to rapidly grow and soon became an important transportation hub for the region.

Today, Moorhead remains an important transportation center and commercial center for central Minnesota. The city has a number of businesses that provide jobs for residents and tourists alike, including a number of major corporations such as 3M and General Mills. Additionally, Moorhead is home to several colleges and universities including Concordia University- Moorhead and Saint John's University- Collegeville.

Real estate in Moorhead is typically expensive due to its proximity to larger cities such as Minneapolis and St Paul as well as its excellent schools and infrastructure. However, there are a number of affordable neighborhoods available if you are looking for something close to town without spending too much money on rent or property taxes.
