Stewartville, MN

Stewartville is a small town located in southern Minnesota. The population of Stewartville was 1,711 as of the 2010 census. Stewartville is located in Otter Tail County and has a land area of only 0.5 square miles. Stewartville is home to a number of businesses including a grocery store, gas station, hardware store, restaurant and bar. Stewartville also has two churches and one school.

The history of Stewartville dates back to the early 1800s when settlers began to arrive in the area. The first settler in Stewartville was James Laughlin who built a cabin on what is now known as Laughlin Hill. By 1853, there were enough people living in the area that a post office was established and named after Judge John C. Steward who had been appointed as the first United States District Judge for the Northern District of Minnesota Territory. In 1892, Stewartville became incorporated as a village with James Jorgenson serving as its first mayor.

Today, Stewartville is still home to many businesses and residents who enjoy their small town lifestyle. The main economic drivers for Stewartville are agriculture (mainly dairy farming) and tourism which benefits from nearby attractions such as Lake Mille Lacs National Park and Devils Lake State Park which are both within an hour's drive from town. There are also opportunities for business development through expansion of existing businesses or establishment of new ones in the community given its limited population size and lack of major transportation routes other than highways linking it to larger cities such as Minneapolis or Saint Paul
