Durant, MS

Durant is a city located in Marshall County, Mississippi. The population was 21,827 at the 2010 census. Durant is the county seat of Marshall County. The city was founded in 1881 and named for General James K. Polk, the 11th president of the United States. Durant is home to the University of Southern Mississippi and has a number of manufacturing plants and businesses.
