Franklin, MO

Franklin is a city located in Franklin County, Missouri. The population was 21,836 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Franklin County.

The city of Franklin was founded in 1825 and named for Benjamin Franklin. The city grew rapidly due to its location on the National Road and as a result became one of the most important transportation hubs in Missouri. Today, Franklin is still an important transportation hub, with Interstate 70 running through the center of town and numerous other highways and streets intersecting throughout the city.
