Gray Summit, MO

Gray Summit is a small town located in the northwest corner of St. Louis County, Missouri. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. Gray Summit is known for its upscale real estate market and its proximity to Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.

The history of Gray Summit can be traced back to 1871 when the railroad was extended to that point. A post office called Gray Summit was established that year, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1957. The community's name most likely derives from the gray sandstone cliffs that are visible from many parts of town.

In recent years, Gray Summit has seen an influx of affluent families who are attracted to its peaceful atmosphere and excellent schools. Many new homes have been built in the area, but there is still plenty of land available for sale if you're looking for a large home with plenty of privacy.
