Malden is a city located in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 16,973. Malden is part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area. Malden was founded in 1836 and incorporated as a city in 1881. The city's name is derived from "Malte", an old German word meaning "marsh".
