Potosi, MO

Potosi is a small town in the Ozarks that has been known for its mining since the 1800s. Today, Potosi is best known as a center for real estate. The town has a population of just over 2,000 and there are only a handful of businesses downtown. However, because of its location in the heart of the Ozarks, Potosi is one of Missouri's most popular tourist destinations.

The main attraction in Potosi is the Silver Dollar City theme park. The park was built in 1928 and features more than 20 attractions, including a replica of an Old West town and a mine tour. Other attractions in town include the Historic Downtown District and the Museum of Mining and Mineralogy. There are also several restaurants and hotels in downtown Potosi that offer views of Silver Dollar City or Lake Taneycomo.

The real estate market in Potosi is dominated by single-family homes and condos. The average price for a single-family home in Potosi is $175,000 while condos range from $130,000 to $250,000. Because there are so few businesses downtown, many people who live in Potosi commute to jobs outside of town or take advantage of the many recreational opportunities available nearby, such as hiking trails or fishing spots on Lake Taneycomo
