Washington, Missouri is a small town located in the heart of the Ozarks. The population is just over 2,000 people and it has a small-town feel with plenty of local businesses. Washington was founded in 1836 and it was originally called Fort Osage. The town was renamed Washington after President George Washington in honor of his support for the Louisiana Purchase.
