Bellmawr is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 9,821,[10][11] reflecting an increase of 1,531 (+27.4%) from the 6,913 counted in the 2000 Census,[12] which had in turn increased by 2,715 (+51.2%) from the 4,814 counted in the 1990 Census.[13]

The borough was incorporated on February 14, 1894,[14] and was named for Colonel James Bellmawr (1784-1864), a Revolutionary War officer and landowner who served as Mayor of Camden City from 1838 to 1840.[15][16][17] The Bellmawr Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 16, 1978.[18]

According to the United States Census Bureau, Bellmawr has a total area of 3.6 square miles (9.1 km2), all of it land.[19]

As of the census[20] of 2000, there were 6,913 people, 2,715 households and 1,898 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2,646.3 people per square mile (1,099.3/km²).
