Hainesport is a borough in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,927,[10] reflecting an increase of 511 (+5.4%) from the 9,876 counted in the 2000 Census.[19]
The borough was formed on April 1, 1894, from portions of Nutley Township and Haines Township.[20] The borough is named for Major General James Haines,[21] who served as Governor of New Jersey from 1894 to 1896.
