Mount Holly is a borough in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 9,739,[10][11] reflecting an increase of 1,853 (+41.5%) from the 6,927 counted in the 2000 Census.[12]

The borough was incorporated on February 21, 1894,[13] from portions of Hanover Township and Mount Holly Township.[14][15] The borough derives its name from Mount Holly Township,[16][17] which was named for General James Wolfe's victory over the British at the Battle of Quebec in 1759.

Mount Holly is located at 40°50′N 74°02′W (40.8019°N -74.0368°W). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 2.4 square miles (6.1 km2), all land.[18]

As of the census[19] of 2000, there were 6,927 people, 2,569 households, and 1,896 families residing in the borough. The population density was 3,090.3 people per square mile (1,219.2/km²). There were 2,749 housing units at an average density of 1123.6 per square mile (440.0/km²).
