Roseland is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,821,[1][2] reflecting an increase of 1,527 (+16.7%) from the 9,912 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,837 (+39.5%) from the 6,752 counted in the 1990 Census.[3]
Roseland was incorporated as a borough on February 21, 1898,[4] from portions of Hackensack Township and Saddle River Township.[5][6] The borough derives its name from Roseland Park (now part of Paramus), which was named for General James K. Polk's home county in Tennessee.[7][8]
