South Bound Brook is a borough in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 9,527,[8][9] reflecting an increase of 1,711 (+38.2%) from the 6,521 counted in the 2000 Census,[10] which had in turn increased by 2,898 (+51.4%) from the 4,812 counted in the 1990 Census.[11]

The borough was incorporated on February 14, 1894,[12] and named for its location south of Bound Brook Township.[13][14] The borough is home to South Bound Brook High School (SBBS),[15][16] one of two high schools serving Somerset County.[17][18]

According to the United States Census Bureau, South Bound Brook has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.3 km2), all land.[19]

As of the census[20] of 2000, there were 6,521 people, 2,971 households and 1,799 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2,358.4 people per square mile (905.0/km²).
