Brentwood, NY

Brentwood is a small town located in the western part of Suffolk County, New York. The population was 21,811 at the 2010 census. Brentwood is known for its luxury real estate and has been called "the Beverly Hills of Long Island."

The history of Brentwood can be traced back to 1686 when Dutch settlers established a farm on the site. The town grew slowly until the late 1800s when wealthy families began moving in. In 1892, Brentwood became a village and in 1906 it was incorporated as a city. The city's growth continued during the 1920s and 1930s with the construction of large homes on prestigious streets such as Laurel Avenue and Woodbine Avenue.

Today, Brentwood remains one of the most affluent communities in Suffolk County with an average household income over $200,000. Many of Brentwood's residents are wealthy professionals who enjoy living in a small town with plenty of amenities. Some popular attractions in Brentwood include The Country Club, which offers golfing, tennis, swimming and fitness facilities; Foxwoods Resort Casino; and Kips Bay Park which features a pool, playground and basketball courts.
