Eastport, NY

Eastport is a small town located on Long Island in the Town of Brookhaven. The population was 10,824 at the 2010 census. Eastport is known for its waterfront and its many historic homes.

Eastport has been a popular place to live and work since colonial times. The town was first settled by Dutch colonists in 1639, and it became an important port for shipping goods to and from New York City. In the early 1800s, Eastport became a popular summer resort destination for wealthy New Yorkers. Today, Eastport is still a popular place to live, work, and play.

The downtown area of Eastport consists of several narrow streets lined with historic homes that date back to the early 1800s. Many of these homes are now used as bed-and-breakfasts or vacation rentals. The waterfront area of Eastport contains several restaurants, cafes, shops, and galleries that cater to tourists who enjoy spending time on the water. There are also several public beaches located close to downtown Eastport.

Eastport is home to two schools - one public school and one Catholic school - as well as a number of churches and synagogues. The town also has a library, recreation center, fire department, police department, post office, hospital (Long Island Jewish Medical Center), and numerous businesses that provide services necessary for everyday life in a small town such as grocery stores, banks/credit unions/ATMs., car dealerships/repair shops etc..
