Pitcher is a city in the state of new-york with a population of roughly 417. It is in Chenango, New York Its Zip codes include 13136 .
Pitcher is a small town located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The population is just over 1,000 people and there are only a handful of businesses in the town. However, due to its location and access to lakes and forests, Pitcher has been known for its real estate for many years.
The first settlers in Pitcher were Dutch farmers who arrived in the early 1800s. The town was founded in 1829 and at that time it consisted of just a few homes and a general store. Over the next few decades, more settlers arrived and the town began to grow. By 1850, Pitcher had a post office, several businesses, and a population of around 100 people.
Throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s, Pitcher's economy was based largely on agriculture. However, with the development of roads leading into the area and improvements in transportation technology, tourism began to become an important part of the local economy starting in the 1970s. Today, tourism is responsible for most of Pitcher's economic growth; however, agriculture still plays an important role in the local economy.
Real estate has been an important part of Pitcher's economy for many years now; however, it wasn't until recently that real estate became particularly popular here. In fact, according to statistics from Zillow®, real estate prices have increased significantly here over recent years; this has led to an increase in both home sales and rental rates throughout Pitcher.
There are several reasons why real estate prices have increased so much here over recent years; one reason is that there are plenty of homes available for sale throughout Pitcher (especially compared to other areas within New York State). Additionally, because there are so few businesses located in Pitcher (compared to other towns), residents have more opportunity to earn income from their home or rental properties than they would if they lived elsewhere in New York State (or even outside of New York State). Finally (and perhaps most importantly), because real estate prices have increased so much here over recent years (and because incomes haven't kept pace), many people who live here now are able to purchase homes that they could never afford before – which has led to an increase in home values across all price ranges within Pitcher.
