Ridgewood, NY

Ridgewood is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,826, reflecting an increase of 536 (+3.5%) from the 10,248 counted in the 2000 Census. Ridgewood was founded by Colonel John Stevens and named for his home town of Ridgewood, New York.

The borough is located at 40°53′N 74°02′W (40.8700°N 74.0667°W). According to the United States Census Bureau, it has a total area of 2.362 square miles (6.811 km2), all land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 10,248 people, 4781 households, and 3641 families residing in the borough. The population density was 1,711 people per square mile (663/km²). There were 4916 housing units at an average density of 676 per square mile (261/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 97% White,[2] 1% African American,[3] 0% Native American,[4] 2% Asian,[5] 0% Pacific Islander,[6] 0% from other races,[7] and 1% from two or more races.[8] Hispanic or Latino residents made up 2%.
