Roslyn Heights, NY

Roslyn Heights is a small town located in Nassau County, New York. The population of Roslyn Heights was 10,527 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the New York City metropolitan area.

The town was founded in 1892 and named for William Roslyn, a real estate developer who donated land for the development of what would become the town. The first homes were built in 1893 and by 1895, there were 1,000 residents. The town quickly became known for its luxurious estates and became one of the wealthiest communities in America. In 1907, Henry Ford purchased a home in Roslyn Heights and began using it as his winter home.

Today, Roslyn Heights remains an affluent community with many expensive homes on large lots. Many of the original estates have been replaced by newer developments but there are still a few remaining examples that offer stunning views of Long Island Sound and Mount Washington. Many famous people have lived in or around Roslyn Heights including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Katharine Hepburn, Walt Disney and Michael Jackson.
