Kenton, OH

Kenton is a city located in Kenton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 18,821 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Kenton County.

The city was founded in 1818 and named for General James Kenton. The city's economy has been based on manufacturing and agriculture until recent years when it has become more diversified with a growing service sector. Manufacturing now makes up only about 10% of the economy while services make up over 60%.

The city is home to two universities: the University of Cincinnati and Sinclair Community College. There are also several hospitals in the area including Saint Elizabeth Healthcare System and Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Retailers in Kenton include Macy's, JCPenney, Sears, Target, Kohl's, Home Depot and Walmart. Restaurants include Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Applebee's.
