Medina, OH

Medina is a city located in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 18,829 at the 2010 census. Medina is the county seat of Medina County. It is part of the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The city was founded in 1812 and named for Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, founder of Wahhabism. The city's economy has been based on manufacturing (particularly automobiles), agriculture (particularly hops), and government services (primarily law enforcement). In recent years, however, the city has developed a strong tourism industry based on its many historic sites and restaurants.
