Rossford, OH

Rossford is a small town in the heart of northern Ohio, just south of Toledo. The population was 10,827 as of the 2010 census. Rossford is home to many businesses and industries, including agriculture, automotive manufacturing and distribution, health care services, and technology.

Real estate in Rossford has always been an important part of the community. The city's first homes were built in 1825 on land donated by General Moses Cleaveland. In 1830, a plat was filed for Rossford Township which included land for a town square and lots for sale. By 1835 there were enough residents to form a village with a population of about 350 people. In 1840 the village had grown to 1,000 people and was renamed Rossford after General James Kossuth Ross who had visited Ohio earlier that year.

The early years of real estate development in Rossford were focused on agricultural land near the city center which was used for growing crops such as wheat and corn. As the city grew larger it became necessary to find new areas for development which led to more residential areas being developed starting in the late 1800s. One of the earliest developments was along Main Street where several large homes were built by prominent members of society including Judge David Atherton (1848), Drury Haines (1849), John Witherspoon (1851) and Samuel Sibley (1853). Other early developments included Eastwood Park (now known as Woodland Hills), Northside Park (now known as Lakeside Park), Westwood Park (now known as Heritage Hills) and Southside Park (now known as Country Club Hills).

In addition to residential areas, commercial development also began to take shape during this time period with businesses such as banks, grocery stores, churches and schools opening their doors. One notable business that opened its doors in Rossford during this time period was J&L Tire & Rubber Company which is now part of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.

As real estate development continued throughout the early 1900s new neighborhoods were developed including Eastgate Village (1910), Northgate Village (1911), Westgate Village (1912), Southgate Village (1913) Glencoe Village(1920)and Heritage Hills(1921). These neighborhoods provided residents with plenty of space to live while still being close enough to all amenities that they needed such as shopping malls, restaurants and theaters.

During World War II there was an increase in demand for housing due to an influx of workers into the area from across America who were working at factories located near downtown Toledo or at military bases located nearby such as Wright-Patterson Air Force Base or Camp Perry Naval Station . This led to more housing being developed outside of downtown Rossford including Green Acres Estates(1945), Arbor Lakes Estates(1950)and Willowbrook Estates(1960).

In recent years real estate development has shifted away from traditional suburban neighborhoods towards mixed-use developments which include both residential units and commercial spaces within close proximity to each other . Some recent examples include The Commons at Spring Valley(2011), The Crossing at Spring Valley(2012)and The District at Spring Valley(2013). These developments provide residents with more opportunities than ever before when it comes time purchase or lease a home or invest in property through commercial ventures .
