Chickasha is a city located in the Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 17,811. Chickasha is home to Chickasha Regional Airport and the University of Central Oklahoma.
The city was founded in 1907 by J.D. "Bud" Chickasaw and named for his daughter, Carrie ( Chickasha) Chickasaw. The city's economy has been based on agriculture and livestock since its founding; however, since the 1990s Chickasha has experienced significant growth as a regional center for business and commerce. In 2000, Forbes magazine listed Chickasha as one of America's 100 fastest-growing small cities.
