Chiloquin, OR

Chiloquin is a small town located in the Rogue River Valley in Southern Oregon. The population was just over 2,000 people as of the 2010 census. Chiloquin is known for its natural beauty and its proximity to some of Oregon's most popular tourist destinations, including Crater Lake National Park and Mount Hood National Forest.

Real estate in Chiloquin is generally expensive compared to other areas of Oregon. The median home price as of September 2015 was $269,500, which is about twice the statewide median home price of $122,500. However, because Chiloquin is so close to major tourist destinations, the demand for real estate here tends to be high and prices tend to reflect that. As a result, even modest homes can cost well over $300,000.

One reason why real estate prices are so high in Chiloquin is that there are relatively few homes available for sale here. In fact, according to the 2016 Census Bureau estimate there were only 97 housing units available for purchase in Chiloquin as of that year. This lack of availability has led to strong competition among buyers and has driven up prices considerably.
