East Smithfield, PA

East Smithfield is a borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the West Chester Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The borough was founded in 1793 and named for General James Smith, who fought in the American Revolution. The borough's economy has traditionally been based on agriculture and manufacturing; however, recent years have seen an increase in services and tourism.
