Harrison City is a small town located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

The history of Harrison City can be traced back to 1787 when James Harrison and his family settled on what is now known as the Harrison Estate. The estate was originally granted to James' father-in-law, John Armstrong, in 1753. In 1802, James Harrison purchased the estate from Armstrong and began to develop it into a thriving community. He built a mill on the Monongahela River and established a sawmill and gristmill on nearby creeks. He also started a store and post office which served as the town's main source of commerce for over two hundred years.

Today, much of what makes Harrison City unique remains unchanged since its founding: its charming Victorian architecture; its winding streets lined with century-old trees; and its close-knit community spirit. The town is home to several businesses including an antique store, bakery, hardware store, bank branch, pharmacy, restaurant and barbershop. There are also several churches - including Presbyterian (1796), Methodist (1806), Catholic (1827) and United Church of Christ (1948) - as well as a public library (1907).
