Hollsopple, PA

Hollsopple is a small town located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The population was 2,868 at the 2010 census. Hollsopple is known for its historic downtown district and its many Victorian homes. The town's economy is based largely on real estate and related services.

The first settlers arrived in Hollsopple in the early 1800s. The town was founded by James Hollsopple and his brother-in-law, John Cresswell, in 1815. At that time, the area was part of Westmoreland County. Hollsopple grew slowly at first, but began to experience rapid growth after the opening of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad in 1853. This allowed residents to commute to work in Pittsburgh.

Today, Hollsopple is a thriving community with a rich history. The downtown district features many Victorian homes that are well preserved thanks to careful restoration efforts by local residents over the years.
