Mill Creek is a small town located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The population of Mill Creek was 2,856 as of the 2010 census. Mill Creek is located at 40°24′14″N 75°4′1″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), all of it land.
The history of Mill Creek can be traced back to 1798 when John and Sarah Miller settled on what is now known as Miller's Hill in what would later become Mill Creek Township. The first mill was built on the site in 1802 by James and Rachel Miller, who also operated a store and post office on the premises. In 1848, Joseph Haines built a sawmill on Miller's Hill that became one of the largest mills in Bucks County at that time. By 1892, there were six mills operating in Mill Creek Township: two flour mills, two woolen mills, one cotton mill, and one carding machine factory.
Today, there are only three active mills left in Mill Creek: an ice cream plant (owned by Breyers), a cheese factory (owned by Kraft Foods), and a paper mill (owned by MeadWestvaco).
