Montgomeryville, PA

Montgomeryville is a borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 8,839 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The borough was founded in 1752 and named for Richard Montgomery, an American Revolutionary War general who served as the first Governor of Pennsylvania. The town grew around a mill on the Brandywine River and became an important center for trade in colonial times. In 1810 Montgomeryville became one of the original townships of Bucks County and developed as a center for manufacturing textiles and shoes. The railroad arrived in 1855 and stimulated growth by making it possible to ship goods to market faster than ever before.

Today Montgomeryville is an affluent suburb of Philadelphia with a diverse mix of housing styles ranging from traditional neighborhoods to new developments featuring luxury apartments, townhouses, and single-family homes. Its commercial district features shops and restaurants along with banks, insurance companies, law firms, and other businesses that support local residents' needs.
