Mount Pleasant is a borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 10,836 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The borough's history dates back to 1740 when William Penn granted a tract of land to his friend and Quaker minister, George Fox. The town was originally called "Foxborough". In 1773, the town was renamed Mount Pleasant in honor of Charles Lennox, 2nd Duke of Richmond and Lennox who had been a generous benefactor to the Quakers.

In 1812, Mount Pleasant became one of the first towns in Pennsylvania to be incorporated. At that time it consisted of just two streets and thirty-six homes. The borough's growth accelerated after 1854 when the railroad arrived and businesses began to spring up along its main street, Market Street.

Today Mount Pleasant remains an important commercial center with many well-known businesses including Kmart, Sears Roebuck & Co., JC Penney and Giant Food Stores among others. The borough also has a number of restaurants including Subway and Domino's Pizza which have helped make it one of Bucks County's most popular tourist destinations.

The primary source of income for residents of Mount Pleasant is retail sales; however, there are also a number of service industries that provide jobs for residents including health care services, transportation and warehousing as well as professional services such as law enforcement and accounting firms. In addition to its commercial attractions, Mount Pleasant is also home to several parks including Fox Chase Park which features a lakefront beach as well as playgrounds and sports fields for residents' use
