Plymouth Meeting, PA

Plymouth Meeting is a town in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 10,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The town was founded in 1740 and named after Plymouth, Devon, England. The first settler in Plymouth Meeting was Nicholas Longworth who built a mill on the Schuylkill River. The town's economy was based on mills and agriculture until the late 19th century when it became a center for banking and insurance. In 1892 Plymouth Meeting became home to the world's first professional football team, the Philadelphians (later renamed the Eagles).

Today, Plymouth Meeting is a thriving community with many businesses and attractions. Some of these include: The Plymouth Meeting Mall which has over 100 stores including Macy's, JC Penney, Sears and more; The First National Bank of Pennsylvania which has been in operation since 1812; Fox Chase Cancer Center which is one of the nation's leading cancer centers; Rittenhouse Square which features many restaurants and shops as well as an art museum; and Ivyland Park which features a pool, tennis courts and more.
