Robinson is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,719 at the 2010 census. Robinson is located in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area and is bordered by the boroughs of McKeesport to the north, Ross Township to the east, West Mifflin to the south and Green Tree to the west.

The borough was settled in 1795 by Nicholas Robinson and his family from Ireland. The town was originally called " Robinson's Mills" after Nicholas Robinson. In 1811, it was renamed for General James Robinson (1734-1806), an American Revolutionary War hero who served as a brigadier general under George Washington. The General James Robinson House (now a museum) is located in Robinson.

The first industry in Robinson was agriculture; however, with industrialization beginning in earnest during World War II, there were now more opportunities for businesses and jobs within the borough limits.
