Shavertown, PA

Shavertown is a borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,527 at the 2010 census. It is part of the West Chester metropolitan area.

The borough's name comes from its founder, Samuel Shavertown. Shavertown was founded in 1792 and incorporated as a borough in 1868. The town grew up around a mill that produced flour for the surrounding region. In the early 20th century, Shavertown became known for its furniture factories and later for its automobile production plants.

Today, Shavertown is an affluent suburb of Philadelphia with a diverse economy that includes health care and technology businesses. The borough's main commercial thoroughfare is U.S Route 202, which leads to West Chester and King of Prussia Mall. There are also several shopping centers within the borough including Willowbrook Shopping Center and Village at Willowbrook Mall.
