Tuscarora is a borough in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Tuscarora is located in the eastern part of Schuylkill County and is bordered by East Greenville Township to the north, Spring Township to the east, and Minersville to the south.
The borough was founded in 1892 and named for Tuscarora Creek which flows through it. The borough's economy has been based on coal mining since its early days. However, with the decline of coal mining in recent years, most businesses have closed down or moved away from Tuscarora. Today, most residents commute to jobs outside of town or work at local businesses.
There are two schools in Tuscarora: Tuscarora Elementary School (K-6) and Tuscarora Middle School (7-12). There is also a Catholic church and a volunteer fire department that provides emergency services for the community.
