Mount Pleasant, TN

Mount Pleasant is a city located in Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 14,848 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville metropolitan area.

The city was founded in 1819 by General James Robertson and named for his friend, Major General Charles Cotesworth Pinckney. Mount Pleasant became an important stop on the Underground Railroad during the early 19th century. The city's economy has been based largely on agriculture and manufacturing until recent years when it has become more diversified with a growing medical center and retail sector.

Today, Mount Pleasant is home to several notable businesses including Fidelity National Financial, Fifth Third Bank, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC., and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Additionally, the city is known for its annual Apple Festival which attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year.
