Rutledge, TN

Rutledge is a small town located in the northeast corner of the state of Tennessee. The population was just over 2,000 in 2010 and has been declining since then. Rutledge is a bedroom community for Knoxville, about an hour's drive to the south. The main economic activity is retail sales and services, with a small manufacturing sector. Rutledge has experienced some recent growth in its agricultural sector, but this is not the main source of income for the townspeople.

The real estate market in Rutledge is very competitive. There are only a few homes available for sale at any given time, and prices are high relative to incomes.
