The history of real estate in Alvord can be traced back to the early days of the town's development. In 1881, landowner John Hogg donated 160 acres of his property to establish a town site for settlers from Austin who were looking for new farmland. The first buildings were erected that year and the community was officially established on October 4th. At that time, there were only a few dozen residents living in Alvord.

During the early years of Alvord's development, most of the residents were farmers who raised crops and livestock on their land. As the community grew, more people started businesses such as a general store, blacksmith shop, hotel, and cotton gin. By 1900, there were about 300 residents living in Alvord and businesses had begun to expand into other areas such as real estate sales and construction services.
