Fort Bliss, TX

Fort Bliss is a military installation located in El Paso County, Texas. The installation covers an area of 1,811 acres and has a population of about 27,000 people. Fort Bliss is home to the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), 2nd Armored Division, 3rd Armored Division, 4th Infantry Division and the 82nd Airborne Division.

The primary purpose of Fort Bliss is to provide training space for the United States Army. The installation also provides housing for military personnel and their families as well as support services such as schools, hospitals and grocery stores. In addition to its primary function, Fort Bliss also plays an important role in the local economy by providing jobs for civilians who work at the installation or live in nearby communities.

Real estate in Fort Bliss is dominated by military housing. Most of this housing is owned by the Army and leased to civilians who work at or live near the installation.
