San Angelo, TX

San Angelo is a city in and the county seat of San Angelo County, Texas, United States. The population was 102,912 at the 2010 census. It is the principal city of the San Angelo Metropolitan Statistical Area which had a population of 209,723 in 2010.

The city was founded in 1876 by Colonel James S. Hogg and named for Saint Anne, mother of Jesus. The first post office opened on July 4, 1876.

San Angelo is located at 31°24′N 99°29′W (31.4167°N 99.5667°W). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all land.

The climate in this area is characterized by hot summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, San Angelo has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.

As of the census of 2000, there were 97,814 people residing in San Angelo; 95% White and 5% Black or African American
