Bountiful, UT

Bountiful is a city located in Davis County, Utah, United States. The population was 63,711 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Davis County. Bountiful is home to the world's largest LDS temple, the Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City.

The city of Bountiful was founded in 1851 by early members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) who were seeking a place to build a temple. The first settlers arrived that year and built homes on what is now known as Temple Square. In 1853, Brigham Young designated the area as the site for a new settlement called " Bountiful".

In 1857, construction began on what would become the world's largest LDS temple—the Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City. The temple was completed in 1893 and dedicated by President Wilford Woodruff. Today, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Utah and hosts numerous religious ceremonies each week.

Bountiful continues to be an important center for religious activity and commerce within Davis County. The city has several large shopping centers that are popular destinations for residents and tourists alike. Additionally, Bountiful has been home to several major businesses including Zions Bank (now Wells Fargo), Kmart Corporation (now Sears Holdings Corporation), J&J Snack Foods (now owned by PepsiCo), and RadioShack Corporation (now General Wireless).

Real estate in Bountiful tends to be expensive due to its proximity to Salt Lake City and its status as one of Utah's most desirable cities.
