Helper, UT

Helper is a small town located in the southwestern corner of Utah. The population was just over 2,000 in 2010 and has been growing at a rate of about 10% each year since then. The town is situated on the eastern edge of the Wasatch Mountains, which provide spectacular views from almost anywhere in town. Helper is also close to several ski resorts and has easy access to I-15 and I-80.

Real estate in Helper is very affordable compared to most larger cities in Utah or the United States. The median home price was just over $130,000 in 2010 and has remained relatively stable since then. There are a number of reasons for this affordability: 1) Helper is not as popular as some other towns nearby, so there are more available homes for sale; 2) many of the homes were built before 1990, when home prices began to rise significantly nationwide; and 3) although Helper does have some commercial development, it is primarily residential.

One downside to living in Helper is that it can be quite cold during winter months (although this can be offset by the fact that it rarely snows). summers can be hot and humid, although they do occasionally experience thunderstorms. Overall, though, residents seem to enjoy living in this small town with its friendly people and scenic surroundings.
