Edmonds, Washington is a city located in Snohomish County, Washington. The population was 27,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area.

The city was founded in 1885 and named for Edmond Meany, a pioneer settler. The first post office opened in 1886. The city's economy was based on lumber and agriculture until the early 20th century when it became an industrial center due to its location on Puget Sound. Manufacturing declined after World War II but has since rebounded with high-tech companies such as Microsoft and Amazon establishing facilities here.
