Forks, WA

Forks is a small town located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The population was just over 10,000 as of the 2010 census. Forks is located in Whatcom County, about 30 minutes north of Bellingham and 45 minutes south of Seattle.

The town's economy is based largely on tourism, with visitors coming to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities that Forks has to offer. The main attractions are the Forks River and its tributaries, which provide excellent trout fishing; Mount Baker National Forest; and various hiking trails. Other businesses in the town include a hotel, restaurants, shops, and a golf course.

Real estate in Forks is primarily residential. There are a few commercial properties scattered throughout the town but they are not significant contributors to its economy. The majority of housing stock is single-family homes or duplexes built between 1940 and 1990. There are also some newer developments but they make up a very small percentage of all housing units.

The median price for single-family homes in Forks was $269,500 as of May 2016 according to Zillow data. This represents an increase from $248,900 during the same period last year but it remains below both the statewide median price ($334,200) and Whatcom County's median price ($316,000). Duplexes have seen even more dramatic increases with prices reaching $371,500 on average as compared to $265,000 during this same period last year.
