Wishram, WA

Wishram is a small town located in the Yakima Valley, about an hour north of Seattle. The population was just over 2,000 in 2010. The town's economy is largely based on agriculture and forestry, but there has been a recent uptick in the real estate market. In 2007, the median home price was just over $200,000; by 2013 that figure had increased to over $300,000.

There are a number of reasons for this increase:

-The area is growing increasingly popular with retirees and families who want to live close to amenities such as shopping and schools;

-The local economy has been expanding due to new businesses and jobs being created in the area;

-The availability of land – Wishram is one of the few towns in Washington that doesn't have any zoning restrictions. This means that there are plenty of options for buyers who want to build their own home or purchase an existing one.
