Brookfield, WI

Brookfield is a city located in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 34,521. The city is the county seat of Dane County and home to the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Brookfield was founded in 1836 as a village on the west bank of the Fox River and incorporated as a town in 1854. It grew rapidly after the arrival of railroad service in 1856 and became an industrial center with factories producing farm implements, textiles, and clothing. The city's economy has diversified since then and includes health care, technology, financial services, and insurance companies.
